City professionals urged to get in training for Tryathlon challenge

Is Bristol is fit for business? Leading city commercial property agents Colliers International like to think so – and they are challenging Bristol’s business community to take part in their annual Tryathlon challenge to prove it.

The Broad Quay based agency will hold its second Bristol Professionals Tryathlon on Thursday 10 July, offering a chance to test yourself against colleagues from other firms, network with fellow city professionals and raise money for a good cause.

Despite being held on what turned out to be the hottest day of the year, last summer’s inaugural event was a great success attracting more than 150 competitors from across the Bristol business scene including eventual winner Steven McGuigan from Veale Wasbrough Vizards.

With temperatures reaching thirty degrees plus teams from half a dozen Bristol companies including KPMG, NatWest, Prupim, Unite and PPS Group tackled a 400m swim, 20km bike ride and a five km run with all monies raised going to Cancer Research.

Head of the Bristol office Tim Davies – who completed last year’s challenge – said: “The emphasis is very much on fun but that didn’t mean to say competitors aren’t going all out to win. The Tryathlon aims to prove that Bristol professionals are fit for work and Bristol is fit for business.”

The event will be held at Tockington Manor School from 10am-3pm.
