Senior/Associate Urban Designer (Birmingham)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a qualified Urban Designer at Senior or Associate level to join an expanding consultancy in Birmingham. You will be joining a friendly and supportive office and a firm with an excellent reputation in the industry. Their office is based in central Birmingham.

This role is to sit within a multi-disciplinary environment, specifically within the Urban Design and Masterplanning team who work on a variety of medium to large scale residential and mixed-use development schemes across the UK. You will be working with an established client base and many high profile developments including new communities formed through housing led developments of up to 8,000 dwellings. We are looking for a qualified Urban Designer (must hold an MA or Postgrad qualification in Urban Design) who is currently working at either Senior or Associate level and have practical experience of working with similar schemes in the UK. You should be proficient in all or most of the following software; AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, Sketchup, Illustrator and Microsoft Packages.

Your role will involve providing comprehensive design and access statements, site/context/character appraisals to inform the design of new developments, working up masterplan drawings and detailed illustrations to support design principles, assisting the team to produce comprehensive design codes, working with local communities and other professionals to ensure the technical deliverability of projects.
