Internal Auditor – Property Management

Beach Baker is pleased to be working with a leading commercial real estate consultancy to recruit an Internal Auditor in its property and asset management department.

The Internal Auditor will report to the Head of Quality Management and undertake audits on property management sites including Shopping Centres and Retail Parks to produce reports for company stakeholders.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

• Work with HQM to prepare an audit plan
• Shopping Centre Audit scope to include all areas of shopping centres including car park management, commercialisation, accounting, operations etc.
• Carry out financial audits relating to property accounting, system reviews, risk assessments and participate in other special assignments as they arise
• Travel around UK (40% to 60% of the time)
• Provide valuable insights from audits and drive a culture of continuous improvement
• Risk based approach in prioritising audits
• Produce high standard audit reports that can be shared with various parties including clients
• Active engagement with various teams for timely identification of issues and accordingly resolving them
• Develop, implement and maintain an audit action tracker for logging all audit findings and actively monitor until resolved
• Identify emerging issues/finding and proactively work with relevant team to mitigate and minimise any impact
• Provide advice and direction to areas of the business with identified problem areas and assist in implementing the relevant financial and operational controls when necessary.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a degree level qualification. An internal audit qualification is preferred but not essential. They should have prior experience of completing internal audits within commercial property, shopping centre experience would be desirable. They should also have a good knowledge of real estate services, excellent report writing skills the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

The role is based in Mayfair with regular travel to sites across the UK.
