Home-Based Building Surveyor – Client-Side/Estates

Posted on: 29/06/2018 ~

Are you interested in a home-based role which offers flexibility? Are you working for a consultancy, housing association or public-sector organisation and looking for something a bit different? Would you like to be responsible for managing an estate?

This company, established over 20 years ago, is an award-winning practice which employs 120 staff and manages an estate of 80,000 properties (including both domestic and commercial) across the UK.

The successful candidate will be joining a national building surveying team which was established over four years ago and prides itself on its flat management structure and relaxed working culture. They have an excellent pipeline of work for 2018/19 and are therefore looking to further expand the team.

The chief responsibilities will be managing small to medium sized projects between the value of £50,000 to £100,000 (but can be up to £1m) on their residential portfolio, which include common areas and external space. You will also be involved in carrying out the life-cycle and planned maintenance works programme.

The geographical patch will include Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Buckinghamshire, and so the successful candidate will need to live a commutable distance to these areas and must be willing to travel. You will also be expected to travel to London roughly once a week.

Candidates will have a Building Surveying degree and have projects experience, gained whilst working for a consultancy, client-side organisation or housing association. You are not required to be Chartered, however full support will be provided if you aspire to become MRICS.

This is a home-based role which offers total flexibility with working hours and diary management. This will appeal to people with young families, out of work interests or looking for something a bit different.

This position offers a competitive salary up to £38,000 and additionally offers the following employee benefits:

  • Car allowance (£4,250)
  • 25 days annual leave plus BH
  • 4% employer’s contributions
  • Health cover
  • Lap top and mobile phone
  • APC support (for non-chartered candidates)
  • Discretionary bonus

If the above sounds of interest, please send your CV to [email protected], or for a confidential discussion contact Matthew Clackson on 0117 925 6401. For more information on our tailored recruitment services please visit: www.beachbaker.co.uk.
