Leading accountancy firm acquires space at Edgbaston office scheme

Leading independent Chartered Accountancy firm, Clement Keys has acquired prime office space in Edgbaston, Birmingham, in deal brokered by DTZ, a UGL company.

The firm has taken 14,500 sq ft of space on the second floor of 8 Calthorpe Road on a lease term of 10 years. DTZ acted on behalf of the landlord.

The Calthorpe Estates developed scheme, which was acquired in 2010 by The Binding Site Group, comprises high quality office and laboratory space and is rated BREEAM ‘Excellent’.

Matt Long, Associate Director at DTZ in Birmingham, commented: “Despite difficult market conditions, 8 Calthorpe Road has been a popular choice for a number of high profile occupiers, including The Binding Site. Clement Keys’ requirement for high quality space across a single floorplate in an accessible location, made the office scheme a stand out choice.”

Clement Keys is one of the largest independent firms of Chartered Accountants in the West Midlands and was previously based at 39/40 Calthorpe Road. The new office will house 102 members of staff.

Phil Cook, Tax Partner at Clement Keys said: “We were attracted to the premises on offer at 8 Calthorpe Road because it offered us the flexibility we required for our growing operations in a modern and energy efficient environment.”
