Auctioneers embark on a new era with move to Cardiff City Stadium as new auction venue

Seel and Co auctioneers has moved its auctions to a new larger home at Cardiff City Stadium’s Ricoh suite.

This new address means the first sale of 2020 will be in the biggest auction venue in Wales and marks a fresh and exciting start for the auction house’s new Managing Director Ross Hooper-Nash, who bought the company last September.

Seel and Co is one of the oldest independent chartered surveyors, block management, lettings and auction houses in Wales. It was established by former Managing Director Tony Seel’s great-grandfather in 1898.

More prospective property owners than ever will be able to see what’s on offer as it takes up its new home at the Ricoh Suite at Cardiff City Stadium at 5pm on Tuesday, February 11. Plenty of free parking is available at the venue in Leckwith.

Ross said: “It’s business as usual for the clients and customers of Seel and Co. It has the same expert staff who are continuing what Seel and Co does best – offering a specialist service in all things property – but basing the auctions in a new venue means it’ll be bigger and better for potential bidders.”

Seel and Co is looking to revolutionise the way auctions are held so that buying and selling properties becomes simpler for clients, particularly those who have not considered buying at auction before.

Details of all of the lots available to buy at the February auction are on the website www.seelandco.com, including everything you will need to know about buying at auction and what you will need to bring with you if you are hoping to purchase a property. Proxy and telephone bidding is also possible for those who are unable to attend.

Seel and Co will also be introducing 360-degree photography and VR headsets to the auction catalogue to further help those looking to make a quick but informed decision on whether to bid for a property, or those considering using an auction for the very first time.

Auctioneer Huw Edwards said: “Our December auction was very busy, and we look forward to welcoming people to our new modern venue at Cardiff City Stadium. We have already made some changes with new branding and catalogues and we will be continuing to modernise the auction experience throughout 2020.

“We have a range of residential, commercial, mixed use and land development opportunities along with some already income generating investments.”

Lots for the first auction to be held at the Ricoh Suite range from a garage in Fairwood Road, Cardiff with a guide price of £7,000+, the former Gordon Hotel in Pentre, Rhondda with a guide price of £25,000+, a landmark Riverside investment property which is on the market for the first time in nearly 100 years for £315,000+ and even a plot of land on Cardiff’s legendary Caroline Street for £250,000+.
