Leading property consultancy CBRE, acting jointly with Kenny Lyon Consulting, has secured two new tenants for Hareness Trade Park in Altens, Aberdeen.

The duo of lettings to R&M Electrical Group Ltd. and Ford Retail is on the back of a £1.5m investment by the landlord to extensively refurbish the terraced industrial units.

R&M Electrical Group Ltd., one of the largest independent electrical distributors in the UK, has taken Unit 6, extending to 5,000 sq ft, on a five year lease. The company, which specialises in the supply of marine, industrial, and onshore/offshore power and instrumental cable packages, has opened the branch to supply the oil, gas and marine industry in Aberdeen.

Unit 7, which extends to 4,000 sq ft, and yard space of 5,250 sq ft has been acquired by the world’s largest dedicated Ford dealer group, Ford Retail, on a ten year deal. The move was part of the company’s focus on expanding its distribution networks. This is the second trade counter operator to open in the park, joining Eurocell, which took Unit 10 last year.

The new tenants also join CityFibre, the UK’s largest alternative provider of wholesale fibre network infrastructure, who took occupation of Unit 9 last Summer following its strategic partnership with mobile phone giant Vodafone to install Aberdeen’s new fibre network.

Russell McGhee, Aberdeen branch manager for R&M Electrical Group commented: “Hareness Trade Park was a stand-out property during our search for new premises, the high quality finishes and the prominent location within Altens Industrial Estate were important for us. We are looking forward to expanding our presence in Aberdeen on the back of our acquisition.”

Amy Tyler, surveyor at CBRE added: “It’s great news that we have secured R&M Electrical Group and Ford Retail for Hareness Trade Park. The significant investment made by the landlord to not only refurbish the units, but also to carry out works to ensure that the units met the specific requirements of individual tenants, is paying dividends.

“There are only four units remaining on the estate across a range of sizes from 4,000 – 17,000 sq ft and we can offer competitive rents and flexible terms.”

CBRE and Kenny Lyon Consulting acted jointly on behalf of the landlord. R&M Electrical Group was unrepresented and GL Hearn acted on behalf of Ford Retail.
