Bellway Homes takes 10-year lease at Eastern Business Park

Leading UK housebuilder Bellway Homes Ltd has moved into new premises at Eastern Business Park in Cardiff, owned by landlords Robert Hitchins Ltd.

One of the most successful house builders in the UK, Bellway has grown from a small family-owned firm and now employs more than 2,000 people in offices all over the UK.

It recently announced completing the sale of more than 10,000 homes for the first time in its history in this financial year (2018). It has an operating margin of approximately 22 per cent.

It has taken a 10-year lease on 8,939 sq ft at Eastern One, one of three office buildings on the 12-acre, campus-style business park at St Mellons.

A spokesperson for Bellway said: “We’re really pleased with the accommodation at Eastern One which suits us perfectly. It’s a high-quality, modern office with good access to the main road networks and excellent facilities.”

Robert Hitchins’ Asset and Development Manager John Jones welcomed Bellway to Eastern One.

Bellway identified its preferred office suite and we worked closely with them to deliver the refurbished suite on time. The quality of the refurbishment represents our continued investment in Cardiff and South Wales.”

The agents were Huw Thomas Property Consultancy and Cushman and Wakefield.

Robert Hitchins Ltd has recently invested more than £750,000 in an internal refurbishment of Eastern One. The end result is suites of between 5,000 and 40,000 sq ft on a single floorplate.

Tenants at Eastern Business Park include architects Powell Dobson, CafeX Ltd, E-On UK plc, Laing O’Rourke Construction Ltd, Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd and the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

The business park is on the eastern outskirts of the city with excellent access to the M4 and A48.

Its three buildings offer a total 170,000 sq ft and benefit from a restaurant, fitness suite, conference centre, meeting rooms, creche, excellent car parking, bike storage, 24-hour access and on-site management.

It provides a range of modern offices from small starter suites to large flexible floorplates.
