Knight Frank helps world leading tyre company

The project management and building surveying team at Knight Frank in Sheffield has completed a state-of-the-art refurbishment of the head offices of world-leading tyre and rubber company, Bridgestone.

Knight Frank acted as project manager and contract administrator to assist Bridgestone in the refit of two storeys of offices accommodation at its 20 year old Tachbrook Park-based UK headquarters in Warwick, bringing a total of 15,000 sq ft of space up to the highest grade of specification.

Bridgestone required the space to reinforce its ‘One Team – Changing up a Gear’ company approach, with staff members encouraged to work in a more collaborative manner and the new space will see customer service, sales and marketing teams and field engineers situated together.

Knight Frank partner Daniel Green said: “We assisted with the Bridgestone project from inception through to completion and delivered a spectacular new space to meet the company’s growing ethos and operational requirements, on time and within budget.

“The services Knight Frank provided included space planning, advice, cost management and value engineering to ensure budget expectations were achieved, management to deliver a package, works including the upgrade of existing internal dividing walls to double glazed partitions, upgrade of lighting to modern LED units, new carpets, new data provision and full redecoration.”

Marketing company Key Parker created a new brand design concept, which will welcome visitors from its Tokyo headquarters, its Brussels-based head offices and colleagues from the rest of the Bridgestone north region including Ireland, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.

Daniel added: Bridgestone’s new corporate branding has been adopted throughout the refit and in addition, there are all new staff welfare facilities including a new dining and communal area and an upgrade and refurbishment of all WC rooms.”

80 members of Bridgestone staff were relocated while the renovation took place. Old office space has made way for more vibrant working spaces, featuring an open plan environment, glass partitions and transparent office areas.

Bridgestone’s north region managing director, Robin Shaw, said: “As the world’s largest tyre manufacturer, it is important that we have an office that reflects our status, which is befitting of a regional headquarters. We wanted a contemporary space that everyone would be proud to work in, and we have achieved this.”
