Baltimore goes for buyout and a new start at Robert Hitchins’ PS21 in Bristol

Baltimore Consulting has completed a management buyout and is opening a new office in the heart of Bristol.

In a breakthrough move for the company, it has taken a five-year lease on 2,300 sq ft on the third floor of PS21 in Prince Street, recently refurbished by developer Robert Hitchins Ltd.

Baltimore Consulting is the senior appointment and niche recruitment expert to the Public and Third Sector. Core sectors include local government, the NHS and education.

Its co-founder Charmaine Vincent has acquired 100 per cent of the business after five years as part of Opus Talent Solutions.

“This is a really significant move for us – our first office as a standalone business and a chance to spread our wings,” she said.

“I’m excited to be able to reinvest in a number of areas such as staff attraction, networking, wellbeing and business development.

“PS21 suits us because it fits our plans for growth, it’s in a great central location, perfect for our current staff and future hires and it’s freshly refurbished.

“Whilst it’s business as usual for Baltimore clients, we wanted to be somewhere to be proud of, that mirrored our success story so far as well as support our ambitious growth plans and the new premises certainly tick all those boxes.”

Senior Development Manager for Robert Hitchins Ltd, Michael Plimmer, welcomed Baltimore.

“We’re really pleased to secure our seventh letting at PS21 in a short space of time. The prime position close to bars, restaurants and shops in the city centre has made it a sought-after location for businesses who favour the city centre working environment,” he said.

Joint letting agents were Knight Frank and CBRE. Alder King acted for Baltimore.

Peter Martin from CBRE said: “The benefits of PS21 have attracted another excellent tenant. There is now only one available suite comprising approximately 1,700 sq ft on the 3rd floor which benefits from two car parking spaces. We anticipate that PS21 will soon be fully let.”

The offices were the home of the TSB’s 300 finance, communications and HR staff until 2015. They were acquired by Robert Hitchins Ltd and refurbished in 2016.

Other tenants at PS21 are national recruitment agency Blue Arrow, essential business services provider kinex, Rapleys property and planning consultancy, Concert Consulting, design company Stantec and global engineering company Ricardo.

Robert Hitchins is one of the leading property developers and investors in the South West and South Wales. It deals with the full development process from site acquisition and planning through to development and investment.
