New 110,000 sq ft design and build warehouse planned at Derbyshire’s Denby Hall Business Park

Developer Garner Holdings has announced its latest commitment to provide a design-and-build facility at Denby Hall Business Park in Derbyshire.

Garner Holdings, which developed and owns the HL Plastics buildings at the site, will supply a new 110,000 sq ft high bay warehouse and a further 10,000 sq ft of offices to an undisclosed local business.

The development will further boost the local economy and employment prospects, by a further 70 full time jobs.

Neil Harris, of Harris Lamb, agent for marketing Denby Hall with CPP, said: “The speed and quality of this development is a credit to both the ambitions of Garner Holdings and to the local area.

“This is a prestigious, high-tech business park for local companies to use as a base for their international business, and its success within the East Midlands is second to none.

“The news of this latest sizeable contract is further proof that the region’s market is burgeoning and that Denby Hall and Garner Holdings are responsive to the demands of businesses wanting a strong regional presence.”

Garner Holdings has now formed a new sister company, Garnalex, which will initially be housed in the Firs Works at Heage during the start up phase, but ultimately plans to build a purpose built new facility at a site as yet to be located.

Garnalex aims to create 50 jobs over the next 18 months, rising to 150 within three years.

Roger Hartshorn, of Garner Holdings said: “The success of HL Plastics and Tarpey Harris since moving onto Denby Hall 12 years ago has been amazing.

“HL has grown from 125 employees to 550, and TarpeyHarris from 25 to 125 . While Garnalex will not start to trade until summer 2019 because of the delivery and installation time of the £7m purpose built plant, we aim to replicate those expansion levels.”

Denby Hall has been a resounding success for the area since It developed the first buildings 12 years ago: The industrial estate now employs approximately 2,000 full time employees for the various occupiers on the site, in addition to the local businesses that provide supplies and services to the primary businesses.
