GVA has been retained to deliver an extensive range of property management services at Birmingham’s landmark mixed-use Brindleyplace development.

GVA will continue to provide a host of specialist services to the estate into the next decade, building on their existing 25 year relationship.

GVA will deliver services across a total of 1.5 million sq ft on the estate, including 657,486 sq ft of Grade A commercial accommodation at numbers 3, 4, 5 and 6 Brindleyplace, and the Oozells Building, which is currently undergoing a £4 million refurbishment.

Alongside traditional property management services – such as rent and service charge collection, and building and facilities management – GVA also provides Brindleyplace with dedicated destination marketing, communications and events, as well as handling of charity relationships and commercialisation opportunities for the public realm.

GVA will also provide management and maintenance of the estate’s two public spaces, Central Square and Oozells Square and oversee the lease management of the Crescent Theatre, the on-site car park (Q Park) and Costa coffee concession.

GVA, which has been a tenant at Brindleyplace for almost three decades, has also undertaken customer and tenant research surveys, and launched sustainability and wellbeing initiatives, including the installation of rooftop beehives.

Brindleyplace is asset managed by Hines UK.

James Campbell Adamson, Asset Manager at Hines UK, said: “GVA has delivered an outstanding level of service to the estate and their reappointment is a reflection of this. Being based at Brindleyplace ensures that they are well placed to provide a rapid response to any occupiers’ needs.

“Brindleyplace represents a true exemplar of a leading mixed-use business and leisure environment and remains a key destination for occupiers. With the ongoing redevelopment of Birmingham, growth of the residential sector in the area and upcoming delivery of the Midland Metro tram extension, there has never been a more important time to ensure that Brindleyplace continues to create the perfect impression for visitors and estate occupiers.

“As we are looking to put in place a number of new changes and initiatives at the development, including the substantial £4.1 million refurbishment of the former 9 Brindleyplace into the Oozells Building, which is due to complete shortly. It is therefore vital that we have a team in place that understands the needs of our occupiers and the potential challenges of a fast-paced, high-demand commercial real estate market.”

Guy Thompson, GVA, said: “Our key objective is to ensure that Brindleyplace remains not only a development of choice for occupiers seeking high quality accommodation set in a safe, secure and fully managed public realm, but also a vibrant destination of choice for leisure visitors with its impressive food, beverage, arts, culture, event and retail offers.

“As both a longstanding supplier of property management services to the estate and a Brindleyplace occupier ourselves, we have a unique perspective and understanding on the evolving requirements of this development and are able to respond quickly to occupiers requirements.”

GVA’s provides a wide range of property management services to developers, occupiers and investors across the UK from its London and regional offices.
