Dunedin completes refurbishment of final building on Birmingham’s Great Charles Street

The transformation of 154 Great Charles Street in Birmingham city centre has completed, following a comprehensive programme of refurbishment.

Part of a portfolio of buildings acquired by AG Dunedin in 2015, 154 Great Charles Street has received significant upgrades throughout, including new building signage, an upgraded reception and the installation of a contemporary tenant lounge to the rear.

The 4th and 8th floor office suites have been upgraded to meet the requirements of modern occupiers, with exposed brickwork, services and suspended lighting. 154 Great Charles Street is the last of the buildings acquired by AG Dunedin to receive a refurbishment, following the successful transformations of Charles House, Lombard House and the Crossway.

AG Dunedin has already secured a letting of 10,000 sq ft over the ground, first and second floors of the building on a 10 year lease to property auction and management business, SDL Group.

Gordon Kellie, AG Dunedin, said: “When we acquired these buildings our vision was to create a series of modern, inspiring offices that featured a sense of arrival and resonated with the needs of modern office users seeking smaller, high quality floorplates.

“By enhancing the existing character of the building while upgrading the workspaces, we believe that we’ve struck the right balance, enhanced by the site’s location and the ongoing works at Paradise to open-up pedestrian routes.”

Joint letting agents for Great Charles Street are GVA, LSH and Savills.

Great Charles Street Estate is situated on an island site in Birmingham city centre framed by Newhall Street, Lionel Street, Summer Row and fronting Great Charles Street Queensway, a main arterial route connecting the site to the A38 and national motorway network.

The estate also benefits significantly from its proximity to New Street and Snow Hill railway stations and situation adjacent to the Paradise development.
