Strategic land promotion company Richborough Estates has responded to its growing team and expanding order book by moving to larger premises, in a deal secured by JLL.

The company, which is currently working on some 80 active sites, has taken 3,000 sq ft of space on the second floor of Waterloo House, one floor down from its previous offices.

The expansion, from their previous 1,200 sq ft, is in response to the company’s growth which has included six new members of staff who have joined Richborough since the start of the year.

Karl Parkinson-Witte, Joint Managing Director at Richborough Estates, said: “We’ve seen significant growth both in terms of the number of live projects that we’re working on and our headcount, with a team now in place that’s going to ensure that we’re able to deliver absolutely the best service for our sites around the country.

“While we had outgrown our previous suite, Waterloo House has proven to be a great location situated right in the city centre and with great transport connections on the doorstep. It’s a great location for us and JLL have done a fantastic job in securing this deal.”

Situated on Waterloo Street in Birmingham’s historic Colmore Business District, Waterloo House has views across Victoria Square, framed by some of the city’s key historic buildings including Birmingham Council House and Town Hall.

Andy Riach, JLL, said: “For a rapidly expanding company like Richborough Estates, Waterloo House is superbly located to retain and recruit staff, with access to rich variety of amenities. Additionally, acquiring space under-refurbishment provided Richborough with the opportunity to combined their fit-out with the landlord’s works and create a truly incredible space for both their staff and clients”.

Richborough Estates has come a long way since its inception in 2003 with land promoters increasingly viewed as an important source of land supply for the housebuilding industry – particularly at a time when local authorities are reviewing their local plans to help deliver a five year land supply for new homes in line with government policy.

Richborough Estates’ USP is in its focus to work with local communities to ensure that development meets the needs of the local area whilst representing the interests of the landowner, thereby increasing the supply of much needed housing throughout England.
