Celebrating growth success

A business at the heart of commercial property work in the South has promoted three staff amid growing instructions from clients and a significant rise in turnover.

Asset management specialist Tim Poynting and retail agent Tim Clark become directors and senior building surveyor Dominic Else is now an associate director at the expanding firm.

Asset management under Tim has doubled, namesake colleague Tim has won instructions to act for 10 shopping centres in the South and Dominic is regarded as a leading light in dilapidation negotiations for landlords.

Gary Jeffries, the managing director of Hughes Ellard, which covers the central South Coast and has offices at the Cams Hall business park in Fareham and The Avenue in Southampton, said the promotions reward their “professionalism, expertise and excellence”.

He added: “They have repeatedly delivered for clients and generated new business despite an impoverished UK economy.

“Along with everyone in the business, from back-office operations to the deal makers, Tim, Tim and Dominic have pulled together as one, contributing to a significant rise in turnover.”

The promotions follow the recent appointments of industrial space specialist David McGougan and Grant Drummond, head of building consultancy.

With the promotions of both Tims, 20-strong Hughes Ellard, which was established nearly 40 years ago and is an independent, has seven directors in total.

The others are Gary, Russell Mogridge, Carl Walker, Stephen Downham and Nik Cox.

The firm’s professional services include development appraisal, search and acquisition, valuation, rent review and lease renewal, asset management, building consultancy, disposals and investment advice.

Tim Poynting deals primarily with property management and lease renewals/rent reviews on shops, offices and industrial property in central southern England; clients include corporates, owner occupiers and local and regional investors and developers.

Tim Clark undertakes retail work from Brighton to Bournemouth, acting on behalf of institutional, property company and local landlord clients and dealing with the leasing, purchase and sale and asset management of shopping centres, retail parades and individual shop units on their behalf.

In addition Tim works on behalf of national and local retailers assisting them with acquisitions, lease disposals and professional work.

Dominic was appointed two years ago to meet increasing demand for building consultancy services, from conversion and refurbishment to new-build projects on the South Coast.

He is experienced in all aspects of building consultancy, including dilapidations matters, preparation of acquisition surveys, schedules of condition, building reinstatement cost assessments and project management incorporating office refurbishments and fit-outs.
