A Swansea-headquartered independent insurance broker is continuing to drive impressive revenue growth.
Founded in 1991, Prescott Jones Insurance Solutions has established itself as one of the most successful insurance brokers in south Wales.
The company has expanded its operations to Cardiff and Bristol, creating six new roles, to help drive further growth across South East Wales and along the M4 corridor.
Group premium turnover in 2011 was £9m, representing a 10% year-on-year growth despite no rate rises.
Now, in a major boost to its management team, it has appointed Paul Gardner to its board as Sales and Marketing Director.
The appointment forms part of a £250,000 investment in growth, which includes new office premises, IT infrastructure upgrade and product development in niche areas, including construction and property investment where the firm has a strong client base.
The recruitment of Paul Gardner – who joins following a highly successful career with Thomas Carroll Group – represents something of a coup for the company. Mr Gardner will be based in a newly-acquired Cardiff office set up to oversee planned further growth in the capital and surrounding areas.
Since returning to South Wales eighteen years ago, Paul Gardner has held senior representative roles such as President of the Cardiff Chamber of Commerce, as well as stints with the Institute of Directors and Sports Council of Wales. However, it was his role as Sales and Marketing Director of Thomas Carroll Group where he became a well-known figure in the Cardiff and South Wales business scene.
Prescott Jones, a business founded 22 years ago and still led by Ed Prescott and Gareth Jones, has grown steadily. The move to open a Bristol office was a sign of their willingness to make bold investment moves and the firm is seeing continued growth of their west country client base as a result.
Prescott Jones works with a diverse SME client base but has a particular strength in the professional services and construction sectors. Acting for over 50 solicitors’ practices, Prescott Jones employs the only specialist Professional Indemnity team in Wales.
