AMCO expand operations in South Wales

Commercial property agents DLP Surveyors & DTZ on behalf of VALAD have successfully let over 12,600 sq.ft. of accommodation at Primoris House, Coed Cae Lane, Pontyclun.

The property, comprising over 6,000 sq.ft. of refurbished office accommodation and nearly 7,000 sq.ft. of workshop accommodation, have been let to Amalgamated Construction Ltd. (AMCO) on a new 15 year lease. Operating from their head office in Yorkshire, AMCO provide a wide range of specialist design, project management, construction and engineering services to the Rail, Energy and environmental sectors. The acquisition of this space at Primoris House on a new lease forms part of their continued consolidation and expansion within South Wales.

Commenting on the letting, Michael Bruce of joint agents DLP Surveyors, “We are delighted to have been able to agree new lease terms to a company the strength of AMCO. Our clients are particularly
excited by AMCO’s plans for business growth in the region”.

Nick Coombes, Commercial Manager for AMCO who oversaw the negotiations, also commented, “Whilst AMCO have been active in South Wales for a number of years we were really keen to build on our
existing foundations and identify a workshop and office facility from which we can plan and deliver our future growth. The facility also needed to be centrally located along the M4 corridor. We were therefore delighted to have identified the premises at Primoris House which really fulfills our needs and medium term aims.”

Rob Ladd of joint agents DTZ closed, “We have acted for VALAD on this estate for a number of years and the remaining office and workshop left us with a challenge to find occupiers in these difficult trading times.

However we are pleased that our clients took a very pragmatic approach to the property and were willing to invest over £140,000 in refurbishing the office accommodation to meet AMCO’s occupational
requirements.”
