Colliers International sell former Aust motorway services site

The former Aust motorway services area near the original Severn Bridge has been sold to  the occupier, Brightside Group plc for an undisclosed sum in a deal negotiated by Colliers International.

Property investment experts from the Bristol office negotiated the sale on behalf of private Irish investors. The property comprises the 14 acre, 40,000 sq ft former motorway premises beside the M48 – formerly the M4.

Colliers International also negotiated the simultaneous surrender of the head lease.

Director of Investment  Richard Coombs said the landmark site had seen many changes since it was first opened as Aust motorway services  in the mid 60s.

He said: “The former motorway services site was previously operated  by Top Rank, Pavilion and Granada. In 2000 Motion Media bought the former services and car park and embarked on a major  commercial redevelopment to convert the former motorway services building into their  HQ.”

Insurance brokers  Brightside have been in occupation for the past five years.
