BDO accountant tops UK exam scoreboard

Richard Hough

Richard Hough, a manager in BDO’s business restructuring team in Manchester, has achieved the highest average mark nationally in the Joint Insolvency Examination Board (JIEB) exams, winning three individual prizes along the way.

The JIEB exam tests a student’s knowledge in the area of insolvency law and practice. It is known to be one of the most rigorous and testing professional qualifications.

While achieving the highest mark overall in the 2015 JIEB examinations, Richard also won three prizes: Insolvency Practitioners Association Prize for First Place, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants’ Prize (to the ACCA member with the highest mark) and the BPP Prize (for the highest mark in the Personal paper).

Kerry Bailey, business restructuring partner at BDO in the North West, said: “We are delighted with Richard’s success. He is a talented and valued member of the team with a strong career ahead of him.”
