All aboard – South West telecoms firm makes high-profile appointment

Richard Corser

A South West telecoms business has started 2016 by making a high-profile appointment to its board of directors.

Richard Corser has joined Pure Comms as non-executive finance director, in order to help support the business and maximise investments as the company continues its expansion.

Richard is a railway enthusiast, a passion he shares with Pure Comms’ managing director Rob Vivian; and one which helped start their business relationship.

He replaces Colin Pearson, who joined Pure Comms four years ago and is now retiring, aged 69.

Pure Comms has built a 50 foot long train set in the boardroom of its Bristol office. The set can be controlled digitally via tablet, from anywhere in the world.

When touring the office Richard was extremely impressed with the innovation and Pure Comms’ approach to doing business.

An FCCA qualified finance professional with strong commercial acumen and extensive experience operating at board and senior management level, Richard has worked across a number of sectors including science and the railway industry.

He joins Pure Comms in a part-time role, where he will support the accounts team; and input into the firm’s financial and business strategy.

He will also ensure all procedures put in place meet statutory requirements and offer flexibility; as the business scales up its operations.

Richard comments: “Pure Comms is on the rise and Rob is a driven entrepreneur. Along with sharing personal interests with Rob we also share the same business values, in that it’s about service, service, service and first class technology.”

Rob comments: “Richard is an experienced businessman and accountant; and as we continue to evolve he will add huge value and expertise. I am delighted to welcome him to the team.”

Pure Comms has been in business for five years and has two offices, one just outside of Bristol and one in St Austell in Cornwall.

The business works with a number of high-profile clients including Bristol Airport, BWOC, Opus, Computerworld, Redrock Consulting and the Co-Operative.
