Director appointment marks impressive year for Bilfinger GVA Building Services Team

The Midlands office of leading commercial property adviser Bilfinger GVA has announced a new appointment to its Building team, following a fantastic year for the Birmingham-based office.

With over 40 years’ experience in the construction and property industry, Steve Malpass joins as a Director from Cushman & Wakefield, formerly DTZ.

At Bilfinger GVA, Steve will work on Birmingham accounts within the health sector, primarily those with the NHS where he has extensive experience in asset valuation, estate strategy analysis and development, business case preparation and building consultancy, having spent 12 years as an Assistant District Building Officer with NHS Estates.

David Martin, Senior Director at Bilfinger GVA, said: “Steve is a rare find, with a specialised skill set which will be a fantastic asset to the building consultancy team and Bilfinger GVA as a whole. His wide range of knowledge, particularly his ability to understand, analyse and provide strategic advice on the challenges faced by the NHS both financially and operationally,  will be advantageous to our office, rating and valuation teams, who also provide professional advice in this sector.

With five new appointments this year, there are now 23 members of the building consultancy team which is one of the largest commercial teams in the Midlands region.

Bilfinger GVA’s Building Consultancy team provides a range of services across both the technical and project management disciplines for owners, occupiers, financiers and property developers.  The team delivers services in six core areas: building consultancy, project management, MEP services, neighbourly matters, cost consultancy and sustainability advice, as well as specialising in quantity surveying, valuation of specialised real estate, building surveying and mechanical electrical engineering.
