Three major names to move onto Derby business park

Hitachi Europe Ltd, Serco Group and Network Rail have all secured space at RTC Business Park in Derby in deals brokered by property consultancy Innes England.

New office space has been snapped up by the three major firms following the completion of a comprehensive refurbishment programme within a number of buildings on the popular business park, which is located to the east of Derby city centre.

LCR, owner of the RTC business park, in conjunction with Derby City Council, is using the allocation of the government’s Regional Growth Fund to invest in the park to create economic growth and sustainable employment.  A first phase of refurbished office accommodation has recently been marketed with impressive results.

European technology giant Hitachi has taken 4,500 sq ft of refurbished office accommodation within Derwent House. From data storage solutions to transportation systems, Hitachi provides products, services and solutions to every sector of the European market.

Network Rail, which owns and operates the railway network, has taken five of the six floors at Brunel house on the business park totalling a considerable 15,800 sq ft.

Nick Hosking, director at Innes England in Derby, said: “RTC Business Park continues to attract interest from businesses wanting office accommodation with parking just outside the city centre and we are delighted to have secured a hat-trick of substantial deals at the park.

“Securing the lets just after completion of a full refurbishment illustrates how investing in refurbishment can be rewarded with good quality lets and also demonstrates the increased confidence in Derby’s commercial property market.”

RTC Business Park is one of the principal engineering employment centres in Derby with direct access to the A6 and is close to the railway station. The buildings sit within landscaped grounds and following the comprehensive refurbishment, Derwent House and Kelvin House have been filly modernised to offer excellent facilities.

David Joy, chief executive of LCR, said “These lettings, all in the engineering and engineering consultancy sector, demonstrate that our commitment to the regeneration of the business park as a major engineering employment hub in Derby is now paying off.

Only 17,756 sq ft of refurbished space remains available within Kelvin House, which is already generating serious interest from other occupiers. Those interested in the space should contact Debbie Thompson at Innes England.
