A training facility which specialises in strength and conditioning and injury rehabilitation has invested £165,000 in new equipment and expanded into larger premises in Rugby.

Peak Performance has moved into new 6,000 sq ft premises in Somers Road, Rugby, with the help of Coventry-based property, risk and facilities management firm The Wigley Group.

Peak Performance was established by former England rugby International Spencer Brown in 2008 to provide a wide variety of services to amateur and professional sportspeople and individuals suffering from injury.

Its services include injury treatment, management and prevention, physiotherapy, sports and remedial massage therapy, personal training and strength and conditioning along with athlete specific training and healthcare and nutrition.

The centre previously operated from 1,800 sq ft premises at Eastlands Court, in St Peter’s Road, but required additional space following a significant increase in clients.

Spencer said: “The unit has everything we need to facilitate additional clients and enhance our services.

“It was quite challenging to find a premises that met all of our requirements which is why we enlisted the help of The Wigley Group which sourced the property and facilitated the physical aspect of the move.

“They also did an excellent job negotiating lease terms and sorted out planning arrangements for change of use at the premises.

“We are really looking forward to operating from a new base. The Peak Performance business model will still focus on the integration of services but now we have more room to accommodate the individuals and sports teams that are looking to train with us.

“We are also installing new world-class equipment to enhance the conditioning room ensuring clients can access everything they need for injury rehabilitation and strength and conditioning treatment exercises.

“The reason we stand out from other establishments is because clients benefit from a mixture of treatments, so one session could see a client taking part in numerous exercises from yoga and meditation to sports performance training.

“Peak Performance has grown considerably over the last seven years. I started the business from a small room at the former LA Fitness health club in Rugby and now employ a team of seven highly-skilled trainers including a physiotherapist, personal trainers and sports therapists.

“My aim over the next five years is to have five additional Peak Performances set up across the West Midlands.”

Louis Smith, estates manager at The Wigley Group, said he is pleased that the transition to the new centre has been successful.

“We were pleased to be able to identify a property in Rugby that was suitable to accommodate a facility such as this,” Louis said.

“The unit has the space to allow Peak Performance to continue to grow its client base and offer a variety of services under one roof.

“We identified the property and negotiated for its use to be changed so that Spencer could transform the area into a training facility.

“We have also helped him to move out of his previous premises including supporting throughout the dilapidations process and providing expert help during, what can be, a very difficult transition.”
