The ‘EGi Most Active Agent’ award is presented by the industry’s leading publication, the Estates Gazette, to the commercial agency which completes the most number of deals in their region each year.

Its researchers collate transactions submitted from all the main commercial property agencies operating in the South West in the period from 1st May 2014 to 30th July 2015.

This year for the fifth consecutive year, Miller Commercial secured the award for Most Active Agent in Cornwall, dominating the market across all sectors including office, industrial, retail and the hotel and leisure.

Arif Sayeed who is Lead researcher at the Estates Gazette for the South West and Wales says “Winning the accolade of EGi’s Most Active Agent in Cornwall for the fifth consecutive year is no easy feat, but the fact that Miller Commercial have managed to do this is testament to their status as a recognised property advisor in the region.

Considering the size of the South West and the number of national commercial property agencies operating in the region, it’s great to see a regional specialist like Miller Commercial topping the rankings year after year.”

Senior Partner at Miller Commercial Peter Heather says “Having approaching 300 commercial property instructions available at any time across Cornwall and Devon provides Miller Commercial with terrific market knowledge.

He added “Since the sweeping election victory by the Conservatives and the pension reforms, we have noticed a great deal more confidence in the market, which has provided stability to financial sectors, and a helpful balance in the expectations of both vendors and purchasers, creating a positive business environment. This is evidenced by an increased number of freehold sales to complement leasehold and lifestyle transactions.

We are also seen a continued shortage in the supply of industrial accommodation within the County, with many occupiers relocating, more often than not, to upsize and expand their operations.

It’s no surprise to see Cornwall’s commercial prosperity starting to see growth as the effects of Falmouth University (recognised as number one in the UK, and number five in the world for Art) begin to become more widely known and the County retaining and gaining young talent as a consequence.”
