The industrial team at leading property adviser Bilfinger GVA has advised on a successful letting to DPD, the UK’s fastest growing parcel delivery company, at Network 46 in Lincoln.

The owner was advised by Development Manager, Graftongate, Bilfinger GVA and Lincolnshire agents, Pygott & Crone, and successfully agreed the letting on a 20 year lease.

Following a successful planning application, work will now begin onsite to build a 42,783 sq ft cross loaded distribution warehouse, designed specifically to meet DPD’s needs.

Due for completion in April 2016, the unit will include 30 level loading doors, four dock level loading doors and is expected to generate 90 jobs for the local area.

DPD has chosen Network 46 for their next parcel delivery hub as part of their UK expansion plans.

Tesni Thacker, Associate in the Bilfinger GVA Industrial and Distribution team, said: “With the development of the A46 dual carriageway, Lincoln has opened the doors to attracting more international businesses, with the letting to DPD reinforcing its location as a distribution hub to the east and west Midlands.

“With a surge of activity in the industrial sector over the last year, this letting is testament to the commercial opportunities available at Network 46.”

Jamie Hockaday, Graftongate, said “We are delighted to have secured this pre-let to DPD.  It is great news for the area bringing in jobs and demonstrating our ability to deliver bespoke commercial properties in a competitive market.”

In the last five years, DPD has experienced unprecedented levels of growth in the UK thanks largely to the success of its unique Predict service. Predict notifies customers of their one hour delivery slot in advance so that they don’t have to wait in all day for a parcel.

Predict also helped DPD win the Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2015 and top customer satisfaction polls by both Which? and MoneySavingExpert.

An established 70 acre business park on the A46, Network 46 provides design and build opportunities for industrial, warehouse and office use from 20,000 to 1 million sq ft.

The site is prominently located just 11 miles from Lincoln city centre and provides unrivalled access to both East Midland and Humberside airports and the national motorway network via junction 27 of the M1.

DPD was advised by sbh International Property Consultants in the completion of the deal.

Bilfinger GVA is joint agent at Network 46 alongside Lincolnshire-based company, Pygott and Crone.
