Retail on a roll for Bond Wolfe as High Street hots up

Retail is on a roll, according to James Mattin, managing partner at property agents Bond Wolfe.

His comments followed the £180,000 sale of a shop on Erdington High Street to a local investor.

And also reflect two freehold instructions going under offer within 24 hours of being placed on the market.

He said: “Freehold retail investment opportunities are proving popular as confidence in finding tenants has returned.

“This deal comes on the back of several notable freehold sales as Bond Wolfe continues to see staggering growth within its agency department.”

High Street, Erdington, is a busy trading location – No 126 was previously a fruit and veg outlet.

Nearby occupiers include Santander, New Look and Specsavers.

A two storey mid-terrace building, there is 557 sq ft of retail space on the ground floor. Marketing particulars suggested that the first floor storage cum office premises would have the potential for residential conversion.

“The prominent position, in a central location on the High Street, added to the appeal,” said Mr Mattin.
