AHR Architects commits to new five year lease at Colmore Plaza

Architectural practice AHR has signed a new lease to remain at the Carlyle Group’s Grade A Colmore Plaza in Birmingham city centre until 2021.

The award-winning practice has confirmed its commitment to the 12 storey office building by taking a revisionary five year lease for its 5,000 sq ft suite, representing part of the ground floor. Quoting rents at Colmore Plaza are £27.50 per sq ft.

“AHR has a long history with Colmore Plaza, both as an occupier and as the practice that designed the building so we are naturally delighted that they have chosen to remain here. This decision speaks volumes about the quality of the building, the flexibility of the floorplates and the range of ancillary services that we offer to our occupiers.”

AHR is one of Europe’s largest architectural practices, employing 450 people in 12 offices around the world. Alongside architecture, the business delivers a range of complementary services including building consultancy, interior design and masterplanning to a diverse selection of sectors, including health, commercial, residential, retail and technology.

Alongside AHR, Colmore Plaza is home to a diverse range of tenants including Marsh, Investec Wealth & Investment, Aecom, Orega, Grant Thornton, Robert Half International and Vodafone.

Tenants at Colmore Plaza enjoy a broad range of services including access to a health and wellbeing clinic, car valet service, running club, shoe repair and dry cleaning services, alongside access to fitness sessions run by British Military Fitness.

A loyalty card providing offers at city retailers is also available to all building occupiers and development of an on-site gym and extended shower and cycle storage facilities is due to be completed shortly.

The deal was completed on behalf of The Carlyle Group by Bilfinger GVA, who are joint agents at Colmore Plaza with Cushman & Wakefield. DTZ acted on behalf of AHR.
