Businesses commit their futures to Leicester’s creative hub

Three creative businesses have committed their future to Leicester’s Phoenix Square and the Cultural Quarter by signing new, three-year leases.

Metz Architects are the latest firm to extend its stay in self-contained offices that form part of the development with an arts cinema, smaller workspaces and designer apartments.

Metz Architects moved into their glass-fronted, 1,350 –square-foot office on Morledge Street in 2011 and decided to stay put for another three years because of the creative buzz.

“Our workspace is a fantastic creative hub with modern facilities,” Vicky Cartwright, manager at Metz Architects, explains. “We love its friendly atmosphere and being surrounded by so many innovative businesses has a real positive influence on our work.”

Hempsall Consultancies Ltd and Maxxima have also extended their leases this year, and with a brand new company set to join the Square next month, all seven of the self-contained offices have now been occupied.

Created by multi-award winning specialist developer Blueprint, Phoenix Square includes 63 individually designed homes, seven self-contained offices, 22 creative workspaces, a café bar and a three-screen independent cinema. The stylish office studios fuse modern designs with high level sustainability.

“It’s so great to receive a vote of confidence from our tenants,” says John Long, development director at Blueprint. “When we created Phoenix Square, we wanted it to reflect the creative minds it would be housing, and I believe we captured that with our designs. These are Grade A modern business spaces with double height ground floors, prominent street frontage and lots of natural light.”
