Cushman swoops to secure Colville

Cushman & Wakefield is expanding its Scottish team with the appointment of industry heavyweight Bill Colville as head of office development.

Colville is recognised as one of Scotland’s leading office market specialists with over 30 years’ experience on major development and leasing projects. He was previously Chairman of DTZ in Scotland and most recently a consultant with CBRE.

He will join as a salaried partner working alongside partners Andy Cunningham in Glasgow and Angela Lowe in Edinburgh to build on the firm’s growing reputation in Scotland’s office sector. He will work with Cunningham and Lowe on both existing mandates and on identifying new opportunities.

Colville said: “We are entering another really exciting phase of the development cycle in Scotland with forecast demand positive across a number of sectors. I am very much looking forward to working with the team to help the firm’s development, investor and occupier clients take advantage of the opportunities we foresee.”

Commenting on Bill’s decision to join Cushman & Wakefield’s Managing Director of Scotland said David Davidson said: “We are delighted that Bill is joining Cushman & Wakefield in Scotland. His undoubted pedigree in office development will be an excellent foil to our existing Business Space teams led by Andy and Angela. The appointment shows our confidence in the Scottish Property Market and our determination to keep growing our business.”

Colville will take up his role later this month.

His arrival follows an incredible year for the Business Space team which saw it acquire 37,500 sq ft at Capella in the Broomielaw for Atos, let 25,000 sq ft to Brodies LLP at BAM Properties 110 Queen Street in Glasgow and acquire 83,000 sq ft of office space at Edinburgh Park for Sainsbury’s Bank.

It was also involved in the sale of TK Maxx for £21m on behalf of Orchard Investment Management and the £70m speculative forward funding of The Silver Fin development in Aberdeen on behalf of British Airways Pension Trustees.
