Pub Golf returns to the North

September saw the return of Pub Golf to Leeds, organised by Beach Baker and the RICS Matrics Yorkshire and Humber. On Thursday 25th September the round of golf began at West Riding where golfers were split into teams of four and swiftly sent in intervals on their merry way around the course.

The course saw the golfers visit 6 pubs/holes along the way with the golfers aim to finish the course with a below par score. Each pub with a different drink and a different mission on route enabled the golfers to lower their score further, all depending on their drinking abilities and their enthusiasm for the missions set, ‘yesterday’s newspaper can’t be that hard to find, can it?’

The golfers never left unsupervised were encouraged to meet the par set by marshals in each pub, ensuring a fair game for all and the possibility of a hangover the following day for some.

Once all teams returned safely and the scores were totted up the winners were announced as, Liam Ridley – TCS, Sarah Calvert –Eversheds,Harriet Griffin &Steffi Laverick– Yorkshire Water, overwhelmed with joy, Liam of the winning team began to serenade his female team mates with some Ronan Keating classics to express his delight of being part of the winning team.

Simon Norris, Managing Consultant said; “The night was a resounding success with over 50 players many in Golf attire and I am looking forward to running the night again in June 2015 with the Matrics committee.”
