Pick Everard secures contract for £20m University of Warwick project

Leading independent property, construction and infrastructure consultancy Pick Everard has secured a contract to deliver a new cutting-edge £20 million scheme at the University of Warwick.

The state-of-the-art new teaching and learning facility will kick-start the next phase of the redevelopment of the central part of the campus and is being created to mark the 50th anniversary of the university next year.

Plans for the landmark building are at a very early stage but it is proposed that it will include the university’s first 500 seat lecture theatre and that all space within the building will be used as a shared teaching resource which can be booked out by faculties across the university.

Pick Everard will be carrying out project management, quantity surveying, CDM co-ordination and will be the NEC supervisors for the scheme.

Duncan Green, partner at Pick Everard, said: “We are thrilled to be working with the University of Warwick.  They are a new client for us and we hope that this is the start of a relationship we can build upon into the future.

“There is a masterplan to redevelop the campus and this project is a key part of that programme.

“This is an exciting scheme and part of the brief will be for the building to make an architectural statement.

“Our work in the education sector has become a particular specialism for us and is growing considerably, so it is very much a key area of our business.

“We deliver work across blue light, healthcare, defence, office developments and industrial and manufacturing to name but a few but we are at a position where 40% of the company’s revenue is from projects delivered in the education sector.

“Education has become such an area of strength for us that more and more new clients are recognising our expertise and knowledge in the sector,” Duncan added.

Pick Everard’s work for the University of Warwick project, which is currently at the feasibility and briefing stage, is being delivered as part of the Scape national framework.  Pick Everard is the sole provider of project management and quantity surveying services for public sector construction procurement, design and transformation specialists, Scape.

The project is set to be completed and open for teaching and learning for the autumn term, 2016.
