DTZ lets 26,992 sq ft industrial unit in Cheshire for a client of Aberdeen Asset Management

Acting on behalf of a client of Aberdeen Asset Management, DTZ has let the 26,992 sq ft Unit 1, Brooke Park, Handforth to fitness and leisure company Competition Line UK on a new 27.5 year lease.

The premises comprise an excellent quality modern detached industrial unit with ground and first floor offices and extensive car parking for up to 54 vehicles.

Competition Line is a family run business and the UK leader in premium low-cost fitness clubs and leisure centres. Following success across the UK, this new club will be opened under the ‘Lifestyle Fitness’ brand with further openings planned in Finland, Italy, Norway and Sweden.

The facility is ideally located on Brooke Park, one of the premier industrial estates in South Manchester and adjacent to the retail parks at Stanley Green and Handforth Dean. The location provides easy access to the region’s main arterial roads, the M56 and M60 motorways and to Manchester Airport, which is within 4 miles.

Scott Griffiths of Aberdeen Asset Management comments: “We are pleased to be welcoming Lifestyle Fitness to Brooke Park. Their fitness concept is cutting edge and will make Brooke Park an even greater place to work and to do business. DTZ worked closely with us to market and let the building, which included a back-to-back surrender with the former tenant.”

Phil Morley, Associate Director, National Industrial and Logistics at DTZ said: “DTZ generated strong interest in the facility in recent months from a variety of companies.”

“This transaction again highlights how companies in the North West are looking to expand and that demand continues to grow steadily for modern refurbished units. Good quality stock in prime locations is becoming much more difficult to acquire due to the lack of supply, especially within some size ranges, which is hardening values, incentives and yields for industrial premises.”

JLL was the joint agent for Aberdeen Asset Management.
