Business warming up as Coventry company moves to new HQ

Business is warming up nicely for a Coventry company that has just moved into bigger headquarters.

Warmington Plumbing and Heating has just expanded into a new office in Providence Street, Earlsdon, as it approaches half a century in business.

Commercial property agents Shortland Penn + Moore helped to attract the company to the new offices after marketing the property on behalf of the previous owner.

Warmington offers a range of plumbing and heating services to a range of clients from domestic customers and local building contractors up to the city’s two universities.

Martin Warmington, who joined the family business 30 years ago and now runs the firm, said he hoped the move would help attract new customers.

He said: “We have expanded the team and, therefore, required more office space. We employ 15 staff and also work with sub-contractors and we want to use the move to help raise our profile and, hopefully, expand even further on the back of it with bigger contracts.

“It’s very much a family business. My parents set up the company from their home in 1966 and it has gradually expanded and grown over the years. My wife and I took over running the business when they retired seven years ago.

“So it’s great that we are still growing and winning new work. The construction industry has had a tough time and we are still some way off a full recovery but we are still going strong.”

James Compton, of Shortland Penn + Moore, said the demand for office space was increasing.

He said: “It’s well-known that Coventry is short of high-quality offices so that is leading to an increase in demand – particularly as the economy has begun to pick-up.

“It’s great to see Warmington expanding ahead of its 50th anniversary in 2016 and is a further sign of the improving economic conditions in the region.”
