Coventry digital marketing company expands overseas

Innovative digital media company CNUK TV which has moved to the University of Warwick Science Park in Coventry is expanding into the overseas market.

In the UK it provides media production, marketing, e-learning, design work and business consultancy to SMEs, universities and blue-chip organisations serving the Higher Education market.

The company, which employs five people at the University of Warwick’s Venture Centre in Sir William Lyons Road, has recruited a further three members of staff to open an office in Beijing, China, and plans are in the pipeline to open offices in central London within the next 12 months.

CNUK TV has worked with the NHS Employers Federation, the Department for Business Innovation & Skills (BIS), the British Medical Association, the House of Commons and HSBC Bank along with media production work for Oxford, Imperial and Warwick Universities.

Jane Jia, Director at CNUK TV, said the company could bridge the cultural and linguistic differences between the UK and China to drive business forward in both countries.

She said: “Everyone at the company is multi-skilled and over the years we have worked closely with our clients to gain a deep understanding of their requirements, which inevitably leads to better mutual efficiencies in joint projects and work practices.

“With our strong knowledge of the education markets and the demands in mainland China, our aim is to assist our clients to exploit new opportunities being made to them.

“Our business consultancy within the UK and in China is growing, so it made sense to open an office in Beijing. We have a number of media, TV and Chinese internet networks out there to support our UK customers in achieving their objectives.”

Dr Sue Adams is working with clients in the UK to work through their online marketing strategy in China where YouTube, Facebook and Twitter do not exist.

She said: “The Chinese market is very different to the UK, particularly with social media which means businesses need a completely different strategy and different platforms. Social media marketing is very cost effective and we do a lot of research and brain-storming within our team to evaluate which system is best to use.”

Karen Aston, manager at the Venture Centre, said CNUK TV is a forward-thinking company which has an impressive list of clients.

She said: “It is great news that so soon after moving to the University of Warwick Science Park that CNUK TV has opened a Chinese office and are looking to expand their services. They have vast knowledge and practical experience to help their clients with their digital media as well as having a great passion for their business.

“CNUK TV located at the Venture Centre to be near to the University of Warwick because of its links there and our flexible office space means the business can grow at its own pace here.

“Doing business overseas is one of the core messages of the UK government to drive the economy forward and developing business in China – which now has the world’s fastest growing economy – can only prove beneficial to CNUK’s impressive client base.”
