Top civil engineer joins fast-growing consultancy

One of Birmingham’s most respected civil engineers has joined fast growing civil and structural engineering consultancy CWA Ltd.

John Panesar has joined the Birmingham-based consultancy as civil engineering director. He was previously civil engineering director at Birmingham consultancy Stewart and Harris Ltd.

CWA, based in the Jewellery Quarter, is celebrating record-breaking growth and expansion and has just undergone a major rebranding exercise.

John Panesar, aged 48, has more than 25 years experience in all aspects of civil engineering. He began his career as a site engineer with Higgs and Hill after graduating with an honours degree in civil and structural engineering from Bradford University.

During his career he has designed, managed and delivered a wide range of projects from domestic housing to multi-million pound commercial developments.

CWA director Steve Wedge said the consultancy saw John Panesar’s appointment as a significant coup.

“We are expanding rapidly across all sectors with a wide range of projects. To get someone with John’s reputation and experience is a big plus for us and will add to the capabilities of our excellent team,” he said.

John Panesar said, “I am joining CWA at a particularly exciting time as the consultancy rebrands and prepares for a fast-growing future, working with a variety of high profile and blue chip clients.”
