Hope for renewed activity now former print site has buyer

The Bristol office of independent property adviser GVA has recently secured a buyer for the former MPG Printgroup Ltd premises in Bodmin, Cornwall.

Yorkshire based Prospect Estates have purchased the 3.27 acre factory complex in Victoria Square, from MPG Printgroup’s joint administrators, S Girling and D Gilbert, bringing renewed activity to the currently unoccupied site. Parker Capital represented the purchasers.

GVA’s industrial agency team marketed the property and completed the disposal on behalf of the administrators in less than six months.

Located fronting Lostwithiel Road in Bodmin, adjacent to the popular military museum, the property includes a grade II listed building dating back to the 1890s, formerly used as a military barracks, and ideal for a conversion to alternative uses.

Following the completion of the sale, Simon Girling from the joint administrators said, “This is an important and substantial site in Bodmin and we’re delighted a sale has been achieved in the first year of the administration to bring greater certainty to the area.”

Vicci Morris from GVA’s office in Bristol says, “Whilst market demand for a factory of this size was limited, we knew this site had great potential for occupation or development. We were therefore pleased to secure a buyer in such a short period of time and hope the future scheme complements the historical setting.”
