New Town Planning Head for DTZ Manchester

DTZ’s Manchester office has recruited Andrew Teage to head up a new town planning team that will provide consultancy services across the North West. Andrew’s role will also involve developing DTZ’s town planning profile and portfolio across the North of England and nationally.

As a Chartered Town Planner Andrew has 15 years experience working in both the public and private sectors. His particular area of expertise is preparing, submitting and securing consent for major and complex planning applications and providing associated planning advice, guidance, reports and assessments. His planning experience and skill set also incorporates development feasibility studies, spatial planning, masterplanning and regeneration strategies.

Andrew joins DTZ from BDP where he successfully led the company’s northern Town Planning Studio, growing the studio’s portfolio and expertise in providing specialist town planning services across a number of key sectors, including education, housing, heritage, retail and healthcare.

Andrew Teage commented: “Regionally and nationally, the DTZ town planning skill has grown in stature and strength over the past 2 to 3 years, securing major blue chip private and public sector clients, and becoming increasingly recognised as a key component of DTZ’s business growth ambitions. With positivity growing in the market place and town planning’s prominence at the front end of the development process, this is an exciting time for such a move.”

John Keyes, Senior Director and Head of DTZ’s Manchester office commented: “This appointment is part of our strategy to grow our town planning consultancy team across the UK as development prospects and optimism in the market continues to improve. Andrew’s experience and skills are an excellent fit to our existing regional strengths. Planning for housing is – and will remain – a national and regional priority and, in addition, Andrew’s public sector experience will help new and existing clients to address the challenges they continue to face.”

DTZ’s town planning team covers all major property sectors, with a focus on higher and further education, residential, industrial, commercial and healthcare.
