CBRE Strengthen Retail Team with Three DTZ Recruits

CBRE today announced three new appointments to further strengthen its retail team. Hugh Radford, Jerry White and Nigel Costain join from DTZ, where alongside CBRE they have been instrumental in leasing some of the most iconic shopping centres in the UK including Bluewater, Westfield London and Westfield Stratford.

In a newly created role, Hugh Radford will have a strategic overview of the Central London retail business as Chairman of Central London retail in addition to becoming Strategic Advisor for Shopping Centres across EMEA.

Jerry and Nigel will join the Shopping Centre leasing team led by Matt Cassell, with Nigel bringing his specialist knowledge and experience in the restaurant and leisure sector to help further grow that business. These new appointments will provide a strategic link between the existing Central London and Shopping Centre leasing teams. Mark Disney will head up the Leasing and Development Group which includes shopping centres, factory outlets and out of town retailing and development.

Phil Cann, Head of UK Retail at CBRE, said: “These new appointments will have a significant impact on our leasing business. Hugh, in particular, will allow us to build on our existing capabilities to provide our clients with the highest quality service and strategic advice on their London assets. His new role will also facilitate even greater collaboration between our Central London and Shopping Centre leasing teams, which is particularly important given the number of new retail entrants we have seen to the UK market. We look forward to Hugh, Jerry and Nigel joining us.”

Ciaran Bird, UK Managing Director at CBRE, said: “These key hires further strengthen our retail business and demonstrate our commitment to attracting market leading experts who will deliver the best possible service for our clients.”

The new appointments follow the recent hires of Luke Holland from Nash Bond and Kate Havenhand from Harper Dennis Hobbs who will also be joining the Central London team in the next few months.
