Former bank is just the job for recruitment company

A recruitment company is moving into the HFC bank’s former premises in Salisbury city centre.

Mploy Staffing Solutions has rented the shop and offices at 55 Milford Street through property consultancy Myddelton & Major.

Myddelton & Majorhandled the lease of the ground-floor premises on behalf of the landlord on a five-year lease at the quoted rental price.

Dean Speer, a partner at Salisbury-based Myddelton & Major, said: “Offices in the town centre are becoming increasingly in demand as the economy gains ground.

“The premises in Milford Street were used as a bank for many years and well located for access to the main shopping area as well as parking in Culver Street multi-storey carpark

“There are also shops and offices as well as professional services companies and hotels close-by.”

The premises – measuring 714 sq ft (66.33 sq m) – face onto Milford Street and include sales and office areas, a kitchen and cloakroom.

Other occupiers in the area include Wiltshire Council’s contact centre, Savills and Strutt &
Parker.

Mploy Staffing Solutions was established in 2001 and already has offices in Dorchester, Christchurch and Poole. It will be trading from its news premises from February 24 and recruiting in the industrial, technical and commercial recruitment sectors.

Myddelton & Major has also been instructed to handle the sale of modern industrial and warehouse units on a premier business park.

The five investment properties are available to purchase as a portfolio or as individual lots on Commerce Park at Frome in Somerset.

All are on offer freehold, subject to leases.

Philip Holford, a partner at Salisbury-based Myddelton & Major, said: “Modern, high-specification units of this kind are always in demand on this premier business park and they represent a rare investment opportunity either individually or as a portfolio as the economy continues to gain pace in 2014.”

The modern units – a mixture of industrial/warehouse premises in the Enterprise and Trade Zones – range in size from 1,008 sq ft (93.647 sq m) to 5,078 sq ft (471.76 sq m).

Asking prices range from £115,000 to £400,000. Rents per annum from existing tenants range from £7,845 to £17,450.

The units on the Enterprise Zone have a minimum of 5m-high eaves, 3m by 4m shutter loading doors and a floor loading capacity of 20kn/sq m.

The units on the Trade Zone have a minimum of 6m-high eaves, 3m by 4m shutter loading doors and a floor loading capacity of 30kn/sq m.

All have excellent loading areas and private allocated parking spaces.

The sales come as the economy continues to gain pace with recent figures from the Office for National Statistics showing growth of 1.9 per cent in 2013 – its strongest since 2007.
