Spectrum Internet, the leading Wales-based internet service provider, is investing in new infrastructure to bring fibre based broadband with speeds up to 60Mbps, and affordable leased line services of 100Mbps and 1Gb, to businesses at Cardiff Gate International Business Park, just off Junction 30 of the M4.
Spectrum has worked with the Park’s owners, Sir Robert McAlpine Enterprises, to plan and implement the infrastructure works, which received approval to start on site on 9th December and should enable occupiers to upgrade their broadband connections by March 2014.

A number of businesses at Cardiff Gate have also benefitted from the first phase of a government-backed scheme that is being rolled out by Cardiff Council. As part of the Super Connected Cardiff initiative, businesses were encouraged to register interest in a voucher scheme that could help those who were eligible to claim back 100% of the cost of upgrading to superfast broadband.
Cardiff is one of four cities within an initial group selected to benefit from the roll out of fibre broadband. “The voucher scheme, together with the work being carried out by Spectrum, has created exciting opportunities for existing businesses at Cardiff Gate, as well as sending out a strong message to businesses that are looking at options for expansion or relocation.”
