The UK’s largest distributed supercomputing network has been recognised at a prestigious UK technology awards ceremony.
High Performance Computing (HPC) Wales, an EU-funded project helping businesses and universities access supercomputing technology, training and support was the only Welsh company to be shortlisted for an award at the ceremony.
The technology provider was honoured within the Open Data category of the Next Generation Digital Challenge Awards 2013.
The ceremony, hosted at Wembley last week, showcased the most innovative companies developing next generation digital access infrastructure across the UK.
HPC Wales was runner-up within the Open Data category, which featured heavy competition from national private sector companies such as the winners, eeGeo, and other shortlisted companies like REgenerate and Transfaction.
HPC Wales is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government, and committed to boosting the Welsh economy by providing businesses and academic researchers with the most advanced computing technology in the world.
