Newport’s regeneration: reality versus rumour

Newport City Council’s Economic Development Manager Rob Frowen has been confirmed as the next Speaker at the City of Newport Business Club’s first lunchtime event of the 2013/14 season.

Rob, a Chartered Surveyor by profession with many years experience in both the private sector and public sector, is responsible for overseeing the re-generation of Newport and also the Economic Development and European Funding functions within the Council. He will seek to dispel the rumours that nothing ever happens in Newport and discuss the exciting City centre improvement scheme.

Mr Frowen, who has been with the Council for 6 years will update attendees on the progress so far, as well as giving them a rare insight into the latest developments.

The ticketed event, which is open to all business people, takes place at the Holiday Inn, Newport on Tuesday 15th October 2013 at 12 Noon.

The club’s Chairman, Janine Dance commented: “There is much speculation over the regeneration of Newport and rumours that nothing ever happens in Newport, so we are delighted that Rob has agreed to attend and set the record straight.”

“This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in the future of Newport to come and find out exactly what is and has been going on, straight from the horses mouth.”

The club’s final event of 2013 will take place on Thursday 14th November 2013 with a guest appearance from paraplegic athlete John Harris, the five-times medal winner who is planning on making the first wheelchair ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Tickets to attend the lunch with Rob Frowen cost £25.
