Rugby businesses invited to inform event

Rugby businesses will be updated on the vital support available to continue driving their companies forward when the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) holds its second Inform event.

The SME Business Group of the CWLEP is holding a series of bi-monthly Inform, Consult and Co-ordinate meetings in the sub-region.

Its latest event will be at the Dunchurch Park Hotel and Conference Centre in Rugby Road, Dunchurch, between 7.45 am and 9.30am on Friday, August 23.

Rugby Borough Council leader Cllr Craig Humphrey, who is also a board member of CWLEP, will give a presentation about the CWLEP and City Deal – its Re-engineering Engineering: Raising our Game initiative to improve skills, innovation, productivity and jobs.

Bruce Undy, of the Federation of Small Businesses and CWLEP board lead for the SME Business Group, said business support, access to finance and procurement opportunities were among the subjects which would be covered.

He said: “We have arranged a number of Inform events throughout Coventry and Warwickshire to give local businesses the chance to find out more about the CWLEP.

“We are encouraging Rugby-based businesses from sole traders to medium-sized organisations to come along to hear Cllr Humphrey’s presentation and find out more about the support which is available along with existing grants and loans to help them expand and make the most of opportunities which come their way.

“We are dedicated to improving business conditions to improve economic prosperity, create jobs and attract inward investment.

“These kinds of events are vital for highlighting how we have helped businesses gain access to support through the LEP and our partners and how more SMEs can also make the most of the support that the LEP can offer.

“Cllr Humphrey will be happy to answer questions from the audience as we continue to improve the communication channels between SMEs and the CWLEP which will be followed by an opportunity to network with the other businesses present.”
