Aberdeen-based Knight Property Group has secured planning permission for the first phase of Kingshill Business Park, a new 8.40 acre development in Westhill, Aberdeen.

The entire development will, upon completion, cater for up to 11 office pavilions providing approximately 115,200 square feet in this much sought after suburban location. The first phase consists of four high specification pavilions, two of which will be 8,500sq ft and the other two 10,500sq ft each in size.

Knight Property Group will commence the construction of this first phase in July 2013 with the first unit, available for rent or purchase, ready for occupation by the end of this year.

It is envisaged that construction of the remaining pavilions will be commence in early 2014 after completion of the first phase, with office space ranging from 4,000 sq ft up to 18,000 sq ft being provided.

Howard Crawshaw, Director at Knight Property Group, said: “We are delighted to have received planning consent from Aberdeenshire Council for the first phase of Kingshill Business Park. Westhill is a key location for companies setting up or relocating to the North East or expanding their bases and our previous developments in this area have been much sought after. One of the first units to be built has already been pre-let and we are working closely with the occupier to deliver a property to our high standards and specifications.

“We pride ourselves on delivering commercial property which meets the needs of our varied client base and we hope to proceed with further developments on the site which will offer an additional 77,100sq ft of much needed high quality office accommodation to businesses operating and based in and around Aberdeen.”

Principal contractor for the project will be Andrew Cowie Construction who is set to commence works imminently and sole marketing agent for the scheme is Ryden LLP.

The Kingshill development follows Knight Property Group’s recent plans to breathe new life into the Capitol Theatre on Union Street. The £30 million investment would see the listed building, which dates back to 1933, be restored and refurbished to create 70,000 sq ft of office space.

In the last 24 months, Knight Property Group have developed in excess of 300,000 sq ft of commercial space across Aberdeen City and Shire, with a further 265,000 sq feet planned in the next 18 months.
