Top UK businesses choose West Riding House

Following the acquisition of the 150,000 sq ft mixed use West Riding House in central Leeds earlier this year, Moorfield Group (Moorfield) and Holbeck Land have announced new letting and lease renewals totalling 25,700 sq ft, in a confident start to their asset management programme for the city centre building.

Laing O’Rourke, the largest privately owned construction firm in the UK, has committed to 15,500 sq ft of office and welfare space, following the need for a presence in the city centre in close proximity to Leeds Trinity Shopping Centre, for which Laing O’Rourke are the principal contractors.

Additionally, the Leeds Regional Office of Barnett Waddingham LLP, one of the UK’s leading actuarial and consultancy firms based in West Riding House since 2001 has committed to renew a lease of 10,200 sq ft.

A comprehensive refurbishment of the 19 storey landmark build ing is planned in the coming months representing a significant investment into the building by Moorfield and Holbeck.

Paul Makin of Moorfield said: “We are delighted to welcome Laing O’Rourke to West Riding House and we are equally pleased to have satisfied Barnett Waddingham LLP’s office requirements. Our plans for upgrading and enhancing the  building later this year underline our commitment to ensuring we present occupiers with the best space to meet the requirements of their modern businesses.”

Robert Firth from Holbeck Land commented: “It is very rewarding to know that the building meets the requirements of these leading businesses and we will continue to focus strongly on forging long-term relationships with both new and existing occupiers through our proactive and accommodating approach.”

West Riding House offers businesses the opportunity to occupy multiple floors of 5,100 sq ft or smaller office suites from 1,450 sq ft upwards, with panoramic views and a high ratio of secure basement parking in the heart of Leeds City Centre.

Jonathan Gale, from Jones Lang La Salle commented: “There are a number of factors why West Riding House is attracting occupiers but crucially these deals represent real value for money for the occupier considering the quality of the space, range of local amenities on offer, level of on-site car parking and the network of like-minded organisations close by.”

In addition to the 81,500 sq ft of office space with its own basement car park, West Riding House also has 68,500 sq ft of prime retail space with high street frontages to Bond Street and Albion Street and a 440 space multi-storey car park.
