Young Britain Start-Up boot camps launched across Shropshire

YOUNG-BRITAIN-HEADQUARTERSYoung entrepreneurs from across Shropshire are being encouraged to attend special StartUp Boot Camps to help them use their talents to become self employed contractors or kick-start their own businesses.

The StartUp Boot Camps have been designed by Young Britain, a youth entrepreneurship campaign based in Telford and supported and jointly financed by the European Regional Development Fund, The TTC Group and Telford & Wrekin Council.

The free events are open to all 18 to 30-year-olds living in Shropshire, who want to turn their skills, hobbies and passions into viable businesses.

The budding entrepreneurs will be offered everything they need to launch their own independent contracting service or start up business and will receive ongoing support to ensure their new self employed career gets off to the best possible start.

The StartUp Boot Camps will be held in Telford on May 1, Shrewsbury on May 13, Oswestry on May 14, Ironbridge on May 17, Newport on May 29, Bridgnorth on May 31, Whitchurch on June 7 and Bishops Castle on June 21.

“StartUp Boot Camps are a great way for the county’s young talents to come together and launch their own profitable ventures,” said Fay Easton, Shropshire’s Start Up Britain local champion and co-founder of Young Britain.

“Young attendees at the Boot Camps will meet other young people on the same entrepreneurial path and ‘The Little Black Book for Start Ups’ is the latest Camp giveaway which comprises every step needed to launch into self employment with a start up enterprise.

“We have already seen some amazing ideas come through the Boot Camps and these are now on their way to becoming successful Shropshire-based businesses.”

Fay said the events are free to attend but spaces are limited and registration via the online booking system is vital.

“All we ask is that young people bring with them energy, passion, and determination, these are the key ingredients for a successful business. A ‘can do’ attitude goes a long way here at Young Britain,” she said.

“Young people have so much talent but are finding the traditional jobs market has few opportunities open to them right now.

“We are here to help youngsters channel their talents to create truly viable businesses and show them that being self-employed is a fantastic way to create earning for life.”

Young Britain aims to create more than 100 new businesses over the next two years. To register for a place on the next StartUp Boot Camp www.youngbritainstartupbootcamp.eventbrite.com
