Enviro-Entrepreneur Bootcamp set to aid businesses applying for Nottingham Technology Grant Fund

Nick-GostickAspiring entrepreneurs keen to access The Nottingham Technology Grant Fund can find out how to maximise their chances of accelerating growth and qualifying for financial assistance at a three-day bootcamp in Nottingham.

Nottingham CleanTech Centre is hosting the Enviro-Entrepreneur Bootcamp event, organised by Inntropy, to give aspiring entrepreneurs in the low carbon and environmental goods and services sector practical advice on how to accelerate growth.

The Bootcamp runs from the 15th to 17th May 2013 and coincides with the announcement that grants of between £20,000 and £1m are now available from The Nottingham Technology Grant Fund to businesses looking for financial assistance to support a business’ growth and expansion.

The Grant funding is available to small and medium-sized enterprises and is designed to support the development of businesses operating within Nottingham’s three growth sectors – one of which is Clean Technologies.

Inntropy was one of the partners to bid for The Nottingham Technology Grant Fund from the Regional Growth Fund.

“The CleanTech Centre’s three-day Bootcamp will provide an ideal forum for aspiring entrepreneurs in the low carbon and environmental goods and services sector to benefit from practical advice on how to accelerate growth,” explains Managing Director of Inntropy, Dr Nick Gostick.

“With this and other City Deal funding available to businesses in and around Nottingham, there is scope for a significant boost in the sector, particularly for those entrepreneurs who want to take control of their own destiny rather that work for big companies.

“More often than not the challenge with setting up your own business is where do you go with your great idea? This programme is designed to give delegates the basics from setting up a business through to how to grow that business. We can provide hands-on support and advice to those businesses and individuals looking to apply for this funding. Indeed, the event will include a briefing from senior representatives of Nottingham City Council on funding and support opportunities for Nottingham CleanTech companies arising from the City Deal.”

He adds: “We have seen many entrepreneurs come through the bootcamps over the past four years and know that delegates value the combination of expert advice with the interaction with other entrepreneurs.

“Well over half of the delegates that have been through the bootcamp now run their own businesses.”

One such entrepreneur is Assim Ishaque of EnvirUP Ltd, who has seen many benefits as a direct result of attending a previous bootcamp at Nottingham’s CleanTech Centre, as he explains: “The Bootcamp provided some well-needed focus and inspiration to support the achievement of my business goals. I found the event’s networking opportunities very helpful and am still in touch with a good number of the participants of the course.

“I recently moved into the CleanTech Centre as a direct result of attending the Bootcamp and am working with a number of the suppliers that I met there too.”

The fourth annual Enviro-Entrepreneur Bootcamp, runs from the 15th to 17th May 2013 and brings together a line-up of speakers spanning seasoned entrepreneurs, active investors and expert advisers. It is an intense three-day programme sponsored by Actons Solicitors, CleanTech Business Limited, EBS Chartered Accountants, Hepworth Brown and V Formation.
