A marine navigation system manufacturer has relocated its Midlands operation to a Birmingham industrial estate to support its business growth.
John Lilly and Gillie Ltd (JLG Marine) has signed a long-term lease agreement with Indurent, a leading developer, owner and operator of warehouse space, at Network Park in Saltley.
The business, which manufactures and supplies high quality electronic and navigation equipment worldwide, has moved to the estate from its former factory premises in Birmingham City Centre.
Neil Slade, of Harris Lamb’s Commercial Agency team, said: “With a global customer-base to service, JLG Marine had outgrown its manufacturing facility in Birmingham City Centre and required a larger site to enable it to continue to expand.
“Indurent’s Network Park is one of the best-in-class multi-let estates in Birmingham, with refurbished units providing HQ offices, high eaves, good power, parking and deep service yards.
“The landlord has invested in an extensive refurbishment at the site and the unit’s specification, teamed with its close proximity to Birmingham City Centre, public transport and the national motorway network, were an excellent fit for JLG Marine’s requirements. The business subsequently signed a long-term lease on Units 6 and 7, a double unit with a total floor plate of over 25,000 sq ft and has now taken occupation of the property,” he said.
Jack Dutton, Asset Manager at Indurent, said: “We are really pleased to welcome JLG Marine to Network Park. The estate continues to attract high-calibre occupiers, and this letting is further evidence of the strong demand for quality refurbished space in this part of Birmingham. A limited amount of space remains available and is well suited to any businesses looking for a high-spec, well-connected base in the city.”
In addition to its North Shields head office and new Birmingham manufacturing facility, JLG also has operations in Singapore.
Harris Lamb and Avison Young are appointed as letting agents for the Network Park by Indurent.
