An important listed building in the heart of a Midlands conservation area is being given a new lease of life, with help from a leading Birmingham property consultancy.
Birmingham city centre-based GroveWest were drafted in to carry out a detailed inspection along with repair and redecoration works to the Grade II listed St. Helens House which occupies a prominent position in Market Street in the Ashby-De-La-Zouch conservation area in Leicestershire.
The building, built as a residence in the early 19th century and listed in the National Heritage List for England, is now being used as part office space, with a private residence above. GroveWest carried out the work on behalf of Ashby-based Manston Investments.
GroveWest co-founder and director Callum Kenny said that, following a detailed inspection of the historic property they were able to identify all of the work required to bring the property to a standard appropriate to its importance in the town.
“Older properties such as this should always be reviewed periodically to ensure they are in the best possible condition, and to eliminate costly repairs at a later stage,” he said.
Birmingham city centre-based GroveWest, headquartered in Temple Street, was founded by co-directors Lee Higgs and Callum Kenny, who between them have more than 25 years’ experience in the property business. The consultancy works across many sectors, providing professional advice to property owners and occupiers, investors, developers and property managers, covering pre-acquisition, concepts, feasibility, design, construction and disposal.
