GE Aviation Wales wins local business award

Local aircraft servicing company GE Aviation Wales has been recognised at the Rhondda Cynon Taf Business Club Gala Awards.

The Nantgarw-based factory, which specialises in servicing a range of aircraft engines for over 90 customers worldwide including easyJet, Emirates and Continental, was awarded the excellence in manufacturing award at the business awards which recognise and celebrate all that is best in business in the local area.

On winning the award, Mike Patton, Managing Director of GE Aviation Wales said: “We are absolutely delighted to win this award. It is a great testament to the business and what we have achieved and keep on achieving year on year.”

GE was recognised for its manufacturing excellence and best practice not only in internal operations but also in those processes that involve customers and suppliers.

GE Aviation Wales employs over 1,200 highly skilled people and most recently opened a Fan Case Centre of Excellence, which incorporates composite repair and new technologies, further enhancing its capabilities as a leading assembly, test and overhaul facility.
